Do you believe that's Jesus' face?
If you don’t know what a pareidolia is, a pareidolia is an illusion, which is something that you think you see. So, I was watching the news about a few weeks ago, and I saw something very interesting. A guy was eating a tortilla when he noticed that there was a picture of Jesus’ face on it. Isn’t that interesting? I think that is amazing because you don’t usually see Jesus’ face on food. I think that guy is very lucky.

Can you see George?
Maybe Jesus was trying to tell him something. There are a lot of other people who found pictures and other strange things on food too. There was another person who found a chicken nugget that looked like George Washington. That person with it was paid $4,000 for that chicken nugget. Wow! You can find some interesting things in food. Maybe if you look around, you can find a pareidolia too!

Has anyone ever asked you what you want to be when you grow up? Some people want to have a crazy and outgoing job like a rock star, a famous book writer, or an astronaut. However, some people want to keep it low-key and become something like a manager or a banker. To help organize your thoughts, here are the categories of current jobs registered at the National Labor Statistics of the U.S. Management:
- Professional and Related Occupations: 139,877,000;
- Service Occupations: 24,598,000;
- Sales and Office Occupations: 33,787,000;
- Natural Resources, Construction, and Maintenance Occupations: 13,323,000;
- Production, Transportation, and Material Moving Occupations: 15,951,000.
Now, I understand if this all sounds confusing. Let’s look at some examples. For example, my dad works for FedEx Express. When a lot of people think of FedEx, they think of truck drivers. Well, he works in the office. He helps to hire other FedEx employees. That means my dad fits into the Management Occupations. I have a friend whose father is a police officer. Other examples are nurses, teachers or firemen. They all fit into the Service Occupations. Where do you think the manager of Target fits in? He or she would fit in a category called Sales and Office Occupations. The Natural Resources and Construction category includes such jobs as gardening, the people who built your house and those who take care of our parks and playgrounds around Brunswick. If you ride a bus to school, you know someone from the Production and Transportation category.
Why is all this important to you, you may ask. This is crucial because it can help you decide your future. For example, if you want to be a teacher, you can get a job right now that relates to kids such as babysitting or coaching children’s teams. This will help you decide if this field is right for you.
Maybe next time when someone asks you what you want to be when you grow up, you’ll have more options about which to think.
